Ingredients:
¾ cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
¼ cup unsalted butter
½ tsp. baking powder
1 cup whole milk
1 cup white granulated sugar
¾ tsp. vanilla extract
¾ cup evaporated milk
¾ cup heavy whipping cream
½ cup + 2 tbsp. condensed milk
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, sift together baking powder and all-purpose flour.
- Add half of the white sugar and unsalted butter in another bowl and beat using an electric mixer until fluffy and light.
- Incorporate eggs and ¼ tsp of vanilla extract into the mixture and beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the sifted flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Transfer the batter to a greased and floured 9×9″ baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Place in the preheated oven at 350°F and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake bakes, combine sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk in a bowl.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly; pour the milk mixture evenly over the surface, allowing it to soak in for about 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whip the heavy whipped cream with the remaining sugar and vanilla until thickened.
- Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
- Place the cake in the refrigerator or until chilled and ready to serve.
