INGREDIENTS:
3 cups egg noodles, cooked per package instructions
1 ¼ pound ground beef
1 ¼ cups cheddar cheese, shredded
2 garlic cloves, minced
¾ cup cream cheese, softened
3 cups tomato sauce
¾ cup sour cream
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp sugar
¼ tsp Black pepper
Salt, to taste
HOW TO MAKE POOR MAN HUSBAND CASSEROLE:
Step 1. Pour water into a pot over medium-high heat; once the water starts to boil, add egg noodles and cook as per the package directions. Then drain, rinse, and set aside.
Step 2.Grease a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
Step 3. Add ground beef in a skillet over medium heat and cook and crumble until color turns brown.
Step 4. Add in Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well, then sprinkle sugar and pour in tomato sauce; let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 5. Add softened cream cheese with sour cream in a small bowl and mix until consistent and smooth.
Step 6. Layer half of the noodles in the greased baking dish, followed by an even layer of half of the cream mixture.
Step 7. Add a layer of half of the meat on top and repeat with another layer with the same sequence.
Step 8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and place in the preheated oven at 350°F.
Step 9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until cheese melts and color turns golden brown.
Step 10. When ready, remove it from the oven and give it a few minutes to cool. Then slice and serve warm.
