INGREDIENTS:
4 Buns, sliced
4 slices Provolone Cheese
¾ pound lean Ground Beef
1 ½ tbsp unsalted Butter
2 tbsp Onion, finely chopped
¼ cup Green Bell Pepper, diced
1 ½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
¾ cup Beef Broth
1 ½ tbsp Ketchup
1 ½ tsp Cornstarch
black pepper, to taste
Salt, to taste
HOW TO MAKE SLOPPY JOES:
Step 1. Add and melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 2. When butter melts, add green bell pepper, ground beef, and onion in the skillet, crumble, and cook the beef until the color turns brown and the veggies are softened.
Step 3. Drain extra grease.
Step 4. In a separate bowl, add cornstarch and beef broth and whisk until smooth.
Step 5. Pour the broth mixture into the skillet and mix well.
Step 6. Add Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and black pepper; stir until everything combines thoroughly.
Step 7. Let the mixture simmer until you get a thick sauce.
Step 8. Top the meat mixture with 4 slices of provolone cheese and continue to cook until the cheese melts.
Step 9. Take off the upper part of the bun, and spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom half. Put the other part of the bun on top and serve it with your preferred dip.
