INGREDIENTS:
2 yellow Vidalia Onions, peeled and thinly sliced
3 tbsp Unsalted butter
2 tbsp Olive Oil
¾ cup Heavy cream
1/3 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
3 tbsp White wine
1 tsp Garlic Powder
¼ tsp paprika or Cayenne Pepper
Black pepper, to taste
Salt, to taste
HOW TO MAKE CREAMY ROASTED PARMESAN ONIONS:
Step 1. Arrange the thinly sliced Vidalia onions flat in a 9×9 baking pan and lightly drizzle with Olive Oil.
Step 2. Sprinkle black pepper and salt on top.
Step 3. Place in the oven preheated at 375°F and roast for 15 minutes or until tender.
Step 4. Take the baking pan out of the oven and increase the oven temperature to 450°F.
Step 5. In a saucepan, add white wine, heavy cream, paprika, butter, and garlic powder. Whisk well and pour the mixture over the roasted onions.
Step 6. Spread the grated parmesan evenly over the onions.
Step 7. Use aluminum foil to cover the pan and bake for 20 minutes.
Step 8. Then uncover and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes until the onions caramelize and the cheese turns brown.
Step 9. Once ready, remove the pan from the oven and serve hot.
